Concept

Aerosol Transmission of other viruses

Aerosol transmission is an important exposure pathway for infectious agents such as influenza and other viruses including coronaviruses. However, the potential for infection can vary based on the function of dose and the individual's immune response. Relative humidity, temperature, and other environmental factors can also affect the survival of the airborne viruses. Another study found that the sizes of the particles can affect the level of infiltration the viruses have when it enters the body. Chickenpox and measles were given as examples of lipid‐enveloped viruses (like SARS‐CoV‐2) that have strong evidence for the transmissibility via airborne routes.
