Sucking Reflex in Human Infants

The sucking reflex is an innate, unlearned behavior present in all healthy human babies at birth. This reflex enables infants to suck on a nipple for nourishment, whether from a bottle or a human, without any prior teaching or experience. It serves as a primary example of a simple, adaptive reflex that is crucial for survival.
