Congenital deafness is a condition in which a person is born without the ability to hear.

Ménière's disease is a condition that results in a degeneration of inner ear structures, leading to sensorineural hearing loss. Symptoms of this disease include hearing loss, tinnitus (a constant ringing or buzzing), vertigo (a sense of spinning), and an increase in pressure within the inner ear.
