In a systemic review by Holwerda et al. (2012)
- Predictors for work participation also find that IQ is consistently a significant predictor of employment for individuals with disabilities.
- Taking medications for mental and behavioral health conditions and employment status were statistically related for all groups. increased probability of paid community employment.
Martorell et al. (2008) found similar results:
- In that the presence or absence of psychiatric symptoms predicted work outcomes in adults with disabilities. Mental illness is more prevalent in adults with ID.
