In Section 44 of the Hadiqat al-Haqiqah, Sanai recounts the story of Abdullah ibn Rawahah, a companion of the Prophet Muhammad. Upon hearing the Quranic revelation warning that all people must pass through Hell, Abdullah is overcome by spiritual dread and withdraws to his home, weeping. This narrative illustrates taqwa (piety) and the profound fear of divine judgment as catalysts for spiritual striving (ijtihad). However, the response of his wife, urging him to go out and reap what he has sown, also highlights the necessity of active engagement and duty in the material world alongside inner piety.
