Although supervisors’ monitoring may help remote workers finish their work tasks, excessive monitoring should be avoided because according to research, constant and excessive monitoring negatively influences remote workers’ productivity and creates work-family conflict.

Supervisors should be aware of the needs and provide task and social support to employees with disabilities. Working remotely is only positive when workers with disabilities are offered various opportunities and virtual strategies to socialize, their needs are well-considered, and working remotely is a choice but not the only option for them.

Task support could be reinforced by sharing information among teams regularly, providing relevant job assistance and resources, enabling remote workers to complete their tasks independently, without relying on office-based peers or facilities.
