Temperamental Factors of Acute Stress Disorder

Individuals who previously were diagnosed with a mental disorder, report higher levels of negative emotional responses, or experience an avoidant coping style are more at risk for acute stress disorder. If an individual tends to make catastrophic or exaggerated self-harm comments, they may be more likely to be suffering from acute stress disorder.
