In Section 5 of Jami's Haft Awrang, the poet explores the theological concept of Divine Life (Hayat), describing it as the fundamental attribute that precedes and sustains all other divine attributes. Jami distinguishes the absolute, self-subsisting nature of Divine Life from the contingent life of physical creation. Unlike human or worldly life, which relies on a spirit, soul, or body, God's Life is intrinsic, eternal, and independent (alive by His own essence). Consequently, all created living beings are ontologically dependent on this primary, self-living divine source for their continued existence.
