In Attar's Elahi Nameh, the Tale of Abraham is used to illustrate the Sufi concept of non-attachment to worldly wealth. Despite possessing immense riches, including countless sheep guarded by dogs with golden collars, Abraham's true devotion remains solely with God. When angels question how a prophet so occupied with material possessions can be the 'Friend of God' (Khalil), God sends the angel Gabriel to test him. Abraham willingly gives away his vast wealth just to hear the name of God praised, demonstrating that true spiritual elevation is independent of material ownership, provided one's heart is not attached to it.
