In Section 18 of Haft Awrang, Jami defines and distinguishes two forms of extraordinary occurrences that violate natural laws (khariq al-adat):

1. Mu'jizah (Miracle): An extraordinary act manifested by a prophet (nabi) that is accompanied by an explicit claim of prophethood.
2. Karamah (Charismatic Wonder): An extraordinary act manifested by a saint (wali) without a claim of prophethood.

Jami reconciles the relationship between the two by asserting that any charismatic wonder performed by a saint is fundamentally a derivative miracle of the prophet they follow, reinforcing the theological hierarchy where saintship is subordinate to and a reflection of prophethood. Jami also highlights the preeminence of Prophet Muhammad by noting that he possessed all the miracles of previous prophets in addition to unique ones granted solely to him.
