The Futility of Intellect and the Veil of Helplessness in Attar's Mokhtar Nameh (Chapter 27, Poem 11)

In Chapter 27, Poem 11 of Attar's Mokhtar Nameh, the poet reflects on a lifetime spent in spiritual unawareness and the mistaken belief that intellectual pursuits lead to true accomplishment. Ultimately, the speaker finds themselves trapped behind the 'veil of helplessness' (پردهٔ عجز), reduced to weeping bitterly. This poem highlights the limitations of human intellect in the spiritual realm and the inevitable realization of human powerlessness.
