The Growth of Anxiety and Depression in Disabled People (A Study)

A study (from the article in the references) looked at how anxiety and depression affect physical disability in adults within the ages of 18 and 94. The researchers found that people who have anxiety, depression, or both tend to have more physical disabilities. This was true even when other factors like age, gender, income, health, and number of doctor visits were considered. The study also showed that older adults with anxiety or depression are associated with higher levels of disability than younger adults. These results suggest that doctors should pay close attention to both anxiety and depression in older patients, as treating these conditions might help reduce their disabilities.
