The Limits of Economic Efficiency

An economic advisor argues that since it is impossible to make someone better off without making someone else worse off, any outcome that meets this condition of efficiency should be considered a policy success, and no further social evaluation is necessary. Critically evaluate this argument. In your response, construct a hypothetical scenario with two distinct, but equally efficient, outcomes to illustrate why a society might justifiably prefer one over the other.
