The Love Pathway

Feelings of love are associated with specific patterns of brain activation. Experiments by Andreas Bartels and Semir Zeki (2000) found that experiencing love increases activity in the insula, anterior cingulate cortex, caudate, and putamen, while reducing activity in the posterior cingulate, amygdala, and right prefrontal cortex.
