For the Unseen there is another cloud and another water; another sky and another sun. That does not become manifest except to the elect; the rest are in confusion about a new creation. There is rain for nurturing, and there is rain for withering. The benefit of spring rain is wondrous; autumn rain is like a fever for the garden. The spring rain tenderly nurtures it, while this autumnal rain makes it sick and yellow. Likewise with cold, wind, and sun: know them as different and find the thread. Likewise, in the Unseen there are varieties of these, in harm and benefit, in profit and loss. This breath of the abdāl is from that spring; from it a meadow grows in heart and soul. The effect that spring rain has on a tree comes from their breaths upon the fortunate one. If a dry tree is in that place, do not blame the soul-increasing wind. The wind did its work and blew; whoever had life chose it for his life.
