The Metaphors of the Gambler and Informer for the Material World in Sanai's Hadiqat
In Section 65 of the Hadiqat al-Haqiqah, Sanai warns seekers against the material world by metaphorically comparing it to an informer (gammaz) and a gambler (moqamer). He explains that just as gamblers and betrayers strip a person bare, the illusions of the material world deceive individuals, stripping them of their spiritual purity and assets. Sanai uses these vivid warnings to stress the necessity of abandoning worldly desires and recognizing the spiritual danger of material attachment.
