The Miracle of the Moon and Prophetic Intercession in Attar's Mokhtar Nameh (Chapter 2, Poem 12)

In Poem 12 of Chapter 2 (Bab 2) of Attar's Mokhtar Nameh, the poet intertwines two major Islamic traditions related to the Prophet Muhammad: the miracle of the splitting of the moon (Shaqq al-Qamar) and his role as the supreme intercessor on the Day of Resurrection (Qiyama). The poem metaphorically suggests that the Prophet's spiritual authority is so immense that his mere gesture can split the celestial body, and this same unmatched power will serve as a guiding hand to intercede for believers during the cosmic collapse at the end of times.
