The Overall Effect (Movement from A to D)

The overall effect of a wage change represents the total change in an individual's choice of free time. In the graphical decomposition shown in Figure 3.13b, it is represented by the total horizontal distance of the move from the initial optimal point, A, to the final optimal point, D.
