The Paradox of the Productive Producer

Imagine a scenario where a skilled artisan can craft a wooden chair in 4 hours or a woven basket in 2 hours. A less experienced apprentice takes 12 hours to make a chair or 3 hours to make a basket. The artisan is clearly more productive at making both items. Explain in detail why it is still economically rational for the artisan to specialize and trade with the apprentice. In your explanation, identify who should specialize in which task and justify your reasoning by comparing their production trade-offs.
