In the Twelfth Discourse of Farid al-Din Attar's Elahi Nameh, after his father's continuous rebukes regarding the pursuit of worldly status (jah), the son shifts his approach. Conceding that high worldly status may be forbidden, he asks his father to explain the true essence of the Cup of Jamshid (Jam-e Jam). By questioning what the Cup actually is and why finding it is considered so precious, the son moves from a blind desire for power to a genuine inquiry into the symbolic and spiritual meaning of the legendary artifact.
