• The Body as Wax and the Soul as Fire: The body is likened to the wax of a candle, while the soul is compared to the fire. When the wax burns away, the fire is extinguished.
• The Inevitability of Death: Earthly life is temporary; the soul's manifestation in the physical world is bound to the lifespan of the body, which eventually perishes.
