The Unsatisfactory Nature of the Day Labor Market

The market for day labor services is unsatisfactory for both employers and workers. For workers, it represents a form of precarious, short-term employment that is typically pursued only when no other options are available. For employers, any benefit from low wages is often negated by the poor productivity that results from the employment arrangement. This low productivity stems from a poor match between the worker, the job, and the employer, creating an inefficient outcome for both parties.
