The Human Visible Spectrum
For humans, the visible spectrum is the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that human eyes can see, typically associated with wavelengths from about to nanometers (nm). Within this spectrum, each color corresponds to a specific frequency and wavelength; the lowest frequency appears red, while the highest frequency appears violet. When the retina receives a mixture of many different frequencies of visible light, we perceive it as white light.
