Visual Representation of Light Wavelengths and Color Perception

An illustration of the electromagnetic spectrum can show how different wavelengths of light correspond to different perceived colors. For instance, the visible spectrum is represented on a scale from 400 to 700 nanometers (nm). Within this visible range, different wavelengths correspond to the perception of different colors. Below the visible spectrum, other electromagnetic waves are classified from shortest to longest wavelengths, including cosmic radiation, gamma rays, X-rays, ultraviolet, infrared, terahertz radiation, radar, television and radio broadcasting, and AC circuits.
