Tim Harford's Analysis on the Persistence of Long Work Hours

In an article for the Financial Times' 'Undercover Economist' column, updated on August 3, 2015, journalist Tim Harford examined why working hours have not decreased as much as Keynes predicted. Titled 'The rewards for working hard are too big for Keynes’s vision', the article argues that the incentives and benefits associated with hard work have become too significant for individuals to willingly choose more leisure time.
