Transport Layer Security

Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a cryptographic protocol that provides encryption for network communications. During connection setup, the client and server negotiate and agree upon encryption keys, encrypting the transmitted data so that unauthorized third parties cannot read or tamper with the conversation in transit.
