Concept

Treating Psychiatric Symptoms of PCOS for Symptom Management

Studies have shown that mental health interventions focused on de-stigmatizing diagnosis, addressing body image issues and related interpersonal anxiety, and integrating the mind, body, and spirit (BMS) are as effective as pharmacological interventions in decreasing excess testosterone and triglycerides.

In fact, mental health interventions address PCOS more holistically by reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety and increasing health related quality of life, which can bolster treatment adherence such as medication compliance and weight loss efforts.
