حق‌الیقین (Truth of Certainty)

حق‌الیقین (Haqq al-Yaqin), the Truth of Certainty, is the third and highest of the three Sufi stages of certainty, following ilm al-yaqin (knowledge of certainty) and ayn al-yaqin (vision of certainty). It denotes the certainty of direct realization and union, in which the knower is no longer separated from the known.

In Section 21, Jami figures this stage through a cluster of images: the sun of knowledge rising at forenoon and dissolving every shadow until the shadow of darkness becomes wholly light; the seeker abandoning the confining city to wander a boundless desert; the third conversation with the Truth-Seeing Master (pir-e haqiqat-bin); and the disciple drawing the pearl of the desired goal from the casket of the truth of certainty.
