Turning Estimate Quantities Into a Project Material Plan

A job estimate usually yields a master list of quantities for the materials the crew will need, such as cable, conduit, enclosures, devices, fixtures, and hardware. The next step is to sort that master list into timing-based groups that follow the construction calendar. For example, items needed before walls are closed up are grouped separately from items needed near completion. Those phase-by-phase lists then support ordering and provide the basis for staging the right materials for each stage of the project.
