Twin Study on Excoriation Disorder Prevalence and Heritability
A 2012 study by Monzani et al. examined the prevalence and heritability of excoriation (skin-picking) symptoms in an adult community sample. The study evaluated 2,518 female twins using a valid and reliable self-report measure of skin-picking behavior, and the data were analyzed using twin modeling methods.
