- 71% of the articles were tweeted at least once
- Found a significant correlation between the number of tweets and citations in both Scopus and Google Scholar
- 11% of the articles were tweeted first before publication to create a “buzz” and they had 3.6 times more citations in Scopus and 2.9 times more citations in Google Scholar compared to articles that didn’t receive this initial “buzz” on Twitter
