Overload burnout is the most common type of burnout; it develops from overworking to attain success at the expense of the individual's health and well-being, resulting in mental and physical exhaustion.

Underchallenged burnout happens when the individual feels underappreciated and that their job does not offer mental stimulation due to missing the potential for learning, advancing, or having meaningful connections, which causes frustration and reduces motivation to work.

Under-challenged Burnout

Neglect burnout develops in the absence of guidance or structure in the workplace, leading to the incapability of meeting expectations and managing responsibilities, causing learned helplessness due to the feeling of incapacity to discover solutions to challenging situations.
