Ultimate Realization of Divine Decrees at Death in Attar's Mokhtar Nameh (Chapter 23, Poem 1)

In Chapter 23, Poem 1 of Attar's Mokhtar Nameh, the poet explains that the divine decrees established at the beginning of creation remain a mystery throughout life. Because living beings have not heard from a "traveler" who has journeyed through death, they cannot grasp the true nature of the beginning and the end. It is only at the moment of the last breath that the reality of these eternal decrees is finally comprehended.
