Unconditioned Stimulus (UCS)

An unconditioned stimulus (UCS) is a stimulus that triggers a reflexive, unlearned response in an organism. In Pavlov's experiments, the meat powder served as the UCS because it naturally caused the dogs to salivate without any prior training.
