Urbanization during the British Industrial Revolution

The Industrial Revolution spurred a massive and rapid process of urbanization in Britain, as large numbers of people migrated from rural agricultural areas to newly formed industrial towns and cities in search of factory work. This led to the unprecedented growth of urban centers, which often suffered from overcrowding, poor sanitation, and inadequate housing.
