U.S. Counties Racial Disparities in COVID-19 Disease

There were 3142 counties included in this analysis. Out of 3142, 677 counties were disproportionally black. Ninety-seven percent of these disproportionally black counties reported at least one case of COVID-19. Ninety-one percent of these counties are located in the Southern United States. As of April 13th, 2020, there were 283,750 diagnoses and 12,748 deaths in these counties. Therefore, it was determined that 52% of COVID-19 cases and 58% of COVID-19 deaths occurred in these disproportionally black counties.
