US COVID-19 Enhanced Unemployment Benefits Policy

In response to the economic shock of the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States' policy allowed for widespread layoffs in closed sectors. To support the newly unemployed, the government provided enhanced unemployment benefits that were more generous than the standard payments available in non-pandemic times.
