One passage in the reading section may include a graph, figure, table, or tab that includes data relevant to the reading task. Test takers are asked to integrate information from the graphic and the passage. Questions about this information are part of the integration of knowledge and ideas reporting category.

Test takers are asked to understand the author's claims, differentiate between fact and opinion, use evidence to make connections between different texts, analyze how the author makes arguments, and evaluate reasoning and evidence from multiple sources. This reporting category represents 13 to 18 percent of the total reading score.
