Vocabulary Spurt in Early Childhood

The period of early childhood is characterized by a rapid acceleration in vocabulary acquisition, often called the "vocabulary spurt." This phase can involve learning 10 to 20 new words per week. However, recent studies suggest that while some children experience this intense spurt, it may not be a universal phenomenon in language development.
