Users can use the search feature to look to see if the node containing the immediate prerequisite information they need for the information they want to add to the map already exists. The user can also click through the links in the area they want to add the new information to see if the prerequisite already exists.  

Searching for the Immediate Prerequisite

If you cannot find a new node's immediate prerequisite on 1Cademy, find the closest available ancestor prerequisite within the topic. Then, bridge the knowledge gap by proposing the missing intermediate prerequisite nodes as children of the ancestor and parents of your intended new node.

Proposing Missing Intermediate Prerequisites

There are two ways to obtain the immediate prerequisite (parent) node for new content: first, search the map to check whether the immediate prerequisite already exists; second, if it does not exist, propose the missing intermediate prerequisite node(s) needed to link the new content in correctly.

All new child nodes need to be attached to the node that holds the immediate prerequisite information. Users must first find or add the parent node that contains the immediate prerequisite information for the child node they want to add.
