West Nile encephalitis

West Nile encephalitis is endemic in the Middle East, Africa and Asia. When it spread to the United States in 1999, over 35,000 cases were ifentified and 1400 deaths resulted. Most infected individuals do not have symptoms or mild flu-like symptoms. Some develop neurological diseases as well.
