The main idea of machine learning is focused on the idea of self-learning. Self-learning is a process in which statistical models are able to detect patterns and improve performance based on data given to those models. In machine learning, this process is done without being explicitly programmed; in other words, the model should learn based on the given data with no direct commands from the programmer. The model analyses the data through trial and error, eventually forming the machine's data model that can be then used to predict future values. The machine formulates decisions based on its previous experiences (training data), which is similar to how people self-learn from their own experiences.
