Worker's Indifference Point for Exerting Effort

A key threshold in determining the no-shirking wage is the point at which a worker is indifferent between unemployment and working with the required effort. This occurs when the wage is set exactly equal to the sum of the worker's reservation wage and the cost (or disutility) of their effort. To actually motivate the worker, the offered wage must be strictly greater than this sum.
