Adolescents' perspective of dealing with a chronic illness: Talking to someone
Many adolescents felt that talking to someone about their illness was important, which included family or friends. In fact, most felt that talking to another adolescent diagnosed with the same illness was better than talking to a health professional. Talking to other adolescents with the same chronic illness helped the adolescents feel that they were not alone and helped improve their sense of well-being.
