Algebraic Formula

In algebra, a formula is a mathematical equation that describes the relationship among two or more variables. Formulas serve as models of real-world phenomena, used both to explain events and to predict outcomes across virtually every field — including transportation, business, economics, medicine, chemistry, engineering, and technology. For example, geometry formulas relate measurements of shapes, physics formulas connect quantities like distance, rate, and time, and spreadsheet programs rely on formulas to perform calculations. What distinguishes a formula from an ordinary equation is that it expresses a general rule or relationship rather than a single problem to solve: once the values of all but one variable are known, the remaining variable can be found by substitution and algebraic manipulation.
