American Heart Association Recommendations on Depression and Heart Disease

Acknowledging the established importance of depression in cardiovascular health, the American Heart Association has issued significant recommendations. In 2008, it advised routine depression screening for all patients with heart disease, and in 2014, it recommended that depression be officially included as a risk factor for these individuals.
