Bidirectional Relationship Between Depression and Heart Disease

Extensive research has established a two-way link between depression and heart disease. This means that individuals with depression are more susceptible to developing heart disease and have a higher mortality rate from it. Conversely, patients who already have heart disease are more likely to suffer from depression compared to the general population.
