Case Study

Analyzing Consumer Choice

The graph described below shows a consumer's budget constraint for purchasing two goods: pizza slices and sodas. It also shows two of the consumer's indifference curves, which represent combinations of the two goods that provide equal levels of satisfaction. Analyze point A. Explain why this point is not the optimal choice by comparing the trade-off the consumer is willing to make with the trade-off the market allows. Based on your analysis, what should the consumer do to increase their satisfaction?
