Short Answer

Optimizing Study Time

A student has a limited amount of time to study for two final exams: Economics and History. They want to allocate their time to maximize their combined score. Currently, they feel that gaining one extra point on the History exam is just as valuable as gaining one extra point on the Economics exam. However, they also know that an additional hour of studying yields 3 points on the Economics exam but only 2 points on the History exam. Is the student currently making the best use of their study time? Explain why or why not, and state what adjustment they should make to their study plan.
