Analyzing the Response to a Non-Labor Income Increase

An individual's preferences are such that they consider both material goods (consumption) and free time (leisure) to be 'normal goods'. This individual receives a large, unexpected, one-time cash gift that is not tied to their work hours. Using the concepts of a budget constraint and indifference curves, analyze why this individual is likely to choose a new combination of work and consumption that involves both consuming more material goods AND enjoying more free time. In your analysis, explain why they would not simply spend the entire gift on more goods while keeping their work hours the same.
